Sunday lunch in Klagenfurt
While many Klagenfurt kitchens cook briefly at Sunday lunch and then close until the evening, ours runs straight through: from 11:30 to 21:00 with no afternoon break. A late breakfast gap at half past two, a classic Sunday lunch or an early evening with the family at the Kreuzbergl – you won't be turned away because the kitchen is „between shifts". It arrives fresh and Italian whenever you get hungry on a Sunday.

On Sundays there's no kitchen break: from 11:30 to 21:00 everything comes fresh from the kitchen – even at 3 pm, when elsewhere it's long over.

On Sundays the complete menu applies – Neapolitan pizza, pasta, fish and dolci. The lunch menu runs Mo–Fr, but nothing is missing from the menu on Sundays.

So you don't end up at a locked door: here's exactly when we open and cook on Sundays and public holidays. The key difference is in the middle row – Monday to Thursday the kitchen takes an afternoon break, on Sundays it doesn't.

In practice: where elsewhere the kitchen closes at 2 pm and only restarts around 5 pm, with us you still get your pizza, the pasta or the catch of the day at half past two or four. A walk & a meal
First out into the green, then to the table
The best Sunday in Klagenfurt doesn't begin at the table but on the way there. The Kreuzbergl is the recreation area right above the city: shady forest paths, the lookout tower, the botanical garden and the quiet loop around the pond. An hour of walking, heads cleared – and then comes the best part.
Because our kitchen runs straight through, you don't have to time your walk around a midday closing. Set off whenever you like and come in afterwards whenever it suits – at two, at four, at seven. Nobody rushes you, nobody glances at the clock because „the kitchen is about to close". An aperitivo to settle in, then a leisurely meal as the sun moves across the pond. That's the Sunday people drive up to the Kreuzbergl for.
If you want it as relaxed as it gets, sit in the garden under the trees; on cooler days, inside. Either way without any hurry, either way with the full menu.

No stripped-down Sunday menu
Some places run a small emergency line-up on Sundays – a few classics, the rest is „sorry, off today". Not here. On Sundays the complete menu applies: Neapolitan pizza fresh from the oven, the pasta classics, the fish and the dolci to finish. The seasonal recommendations of the month are on the table on Sundays too.
We don't do the classic roast – instead the Italian equivalent: a long table, several courses, something to share and time to enjoy it. The fixed-price lunch menu runs Mo–Fr; on Sundays nothing is missing from the menu, and you order exactly what you fancy.

Sunday is our busiest day – lunchtime and the early evening fill up fast as families come back from their walk. To make sure your table is waiting, it's best to book ahead.
